As a leader in naturalistic zoological exhibits, the Desert Museum has launched a campaign to create a new Mexican Gray Wolf exhibit on grounds. Although we have begun exhibit design, we are still working towards our fundraising goal of $5M, and need to raise $1.5M more from our community to complete this crucial project for the endangered Mexican Gray Wolves. Please join us in making the new Mexican Gray Wolf exhibit possible.

Summer Hours are in effect through the month of September! For your enjoyment, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is open 365 days a year! As the weather heats up, we move into our Summer Hours. Effective June through September our regular operating hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of Cool Summer Nights where we stay open until 10:00 p.m. every Saturday of June, July, and August!

The Chiricahua Mountains of southeastern Arizona include five recognized ecological life zones and contain some of the richest reservoirs of plant and animal life on Earth. Learn about the fauna and flora of the Chiricahuas that are adapted to the high desert and mountains. Understanding the behavior of diverse species helps us appreciate human evolution and increases our ability to preserve biological diversity through conservation.
